MVP
Adrian Peterson (RB, Vikings)-- 2,000 yards, 16 TDs
Honorable Mention: Tom Brady (QB, Patriots)-- 4,500 yards, 37 TDs
Defensive Player of the Year
Troy Polamalu (SS, Steelers)-- 75 tackles, 4.0 sacks, 8 INT, 3 FF, 2 FR, 1 TD
Honorable Mention: Mario Williams (DE, Texans)-- 55 tackles, 18.0 sacks, 5 FF, 3 FR
Offensive Rookie of the Year
Donald Brown (RB, Colts)-- 1,200 total yards, 8 total TDs
Honorable Mention: Knowshon Moreno (RB, Broncos)-- 1,100 yards, 6 TDs
Defensive Rookie of the Year
B.J. Raji (DT, Packers)-- 50 tackles, 6.0 sacks, 3 FF
Honorable Mention: Brian Cushing (LB, Texans)-- 90 tackles, 5.0 sacks, 2 FF, 2 INT
Best Fantasy Value
Anquan Boldin (WR, Cardinals)-- Going 2 rounds after Fitzgerald but will put up the same if not better numbers.
Biggest Fantasy Sleeper
Donald Brown (RB, Colts)-- After Joseph Addai gets hurt, Brown will put up monster numbers.
Biggest Fantasy Bust
Steve Smith (WR, Panthers)-- The Panthers run, run again, and then run some more (1st in the NFL in rushing attempts last year). I don't trust Jake Delhomme at all, Smith is an injury risk, there's no one else to take pressure off of him, and has too many games of very little production. Not worth a second round pick and wouldn't want him as my top receiver.
AFC Playoffs
1. New England Patriots (14-2)
2. Pittsburgh Steelers (12-4)
3. San Diego Chargers (12-4)
4. Indianapolis Colts (11-5)
5. Baltimore Ravens (10-6)
6. Houston Texans (10-6)
Just out: Tennessee Titans (10-6)- They're going to miss Albert Haynesworth an awful lot
Wild Card Round:
San Diego over Houston (A lot closer game than you think)
Baltimore over Indianapolis
Divisional Round:
New England over Baltimore (Very close game)
Pittsburgh over San Diego (For the second time this year)
AFC Championship Game:
Pittsburgh over New England (Steelers defense good enough to slow down Pats offense, Pats defense missing too many key parts to hold down Steelers)
NFC Playoffs
1. Minnesota Vikings (12-4)
2. New York Giants (12-4)
3. Atlanta Falcons (10-6)
4. Arizona Cardinals (9-7)
5. Philadelphia Eagles (10-6)
6. Green Bay Packers (10-6)
Just out: Chicago Bears (10-6)- Lose head-to-head vs. Eagles and divisional tiebreaker to Packers
Wild Card Round:
Packers over Falcons (Matt Ryan still a year away)
Eagles over Cardinals (Payback for last year's NFC Championship game)
Divisional Round:
Packers over Vikings (Bad karma for the Retirement Riddler. He has a chance to win the game late, but throws 2 interceptions in the 4th quarter and retires immediately after saying he came back to give the Packers this win all along and takes credit for developing Aaron Rodgers who outplays him by a mile and a half)
Giants over Eagles (Payback for last year's Divisional round game)
NFC Championship:
Giants over Packers (Giants D stops Rodgers and his aerial assault. Giants backs run the ball very well against Green Bay to pull out the win)
Obama Bowl (Super Bowl 44)
Steelers over Giants 20-17
Of course the team with the black head coach wins the Obama Bowl (Super Bowl 44, Obama is the 44th President) and this time James Harrison does visit the White House. The Steelers are still the class of the NFL. Enjoy the 2009 NFL season!!

I don't want Steelers to win. I would rather go with that old guy that plays for the purple team to win it all.
ReplyDeleteYou don't like the Cowboys, huh?
ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with the Steelers? I don't know, I don't find them annoying or anything like I do that old fart who thinks he can still play. I give it 4 weeks before everyone talking about how all he has to do is hand it off to Adrian Peterson every play gets to him and he starts making 8-10 bad decisions a game to prove people wrong. And then complain about his arm and how he's playing through so much pain. Ugh. I can't stand that guy.
ReplyDeleteAnd Ish, it's not that I don't like the Cowboys, I just don't think they'll do well in that division. If they can beat the Eagles and Giants then they have a chance, but I don't know if they'll do better than 1-3 against those teams. I'm definitely not excited about a win over Tampa Bay who I think is just awful this year.
